Help getting audio player to work, please?

    Hi,

    I'm having problems getting the audio player to work, it won't play the audio and says buffering when I try to get it to play.

    The audio is an mp3 and it's uploaded to the site:
    http://rebeccarobinsondotorg.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/narrow-road1.mp3

    The code I am using is this:
    [audio http://rebeccarobinsondotorg.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/narrow-road1.mp3%5D

    It's hard to tell from looking in the forum when you haven't used the Code tag but this is the way it should look:

    [audio http://rebeccarobinsondotorg.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/narrow-road1.mp3]

    and it should definitely NOT have a live link in it, by which I mean a blue, clickable link. If it does, that's your problem. Just put your cursor on the link anywhere and click the Unlink button. The code stays the same.

    @rain: What you're describing can only happen if you paste the code in the Visual post/page editor. But in this case the code is in a Text widget.

    @SHZ: Try re-uploading the mp3 after removing the hyphen from the filename.

    But the MP3 works just fine. I tested it.

    Yes, so did I, the mp3 is ok - and the sourcecode of the OP's widget is also ok. But the WP audio player doesn't like spaces, punctuation marks etc: that's the only possible problem I can think of.

    I removed the hyphen but it still says buffering. Frustrating!

    Any ideas?

    Try creating it as a regular draft Post and follow my Unlink suggestion. Then click to the HTML editor and copy all the code from there, then paste that into the widget. There's a slim possibility that will fix it.

    still not working. I also tried to just get it working in the post but it won't work.

    I don't understand why it would be linked or the need to unlink.. not sure if I'm missing something there but mine is not linked at all as I just entered the address of the mp3.

    Maybe I should try soundcloud
