Help! How do I restore photos deleted from Media Library?

  1. I recently (yesterday and a couple of weeks ago) deleted photos from my media library, not knowing that they would be deleted from my published posts as well. Is there any way I can retrieve those? I've deleted the photos from my computer as well so I can't upload them back onto the media library. Hoping you can help the way you did here http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-get-deleted-media-library-photos-back-into-old-published-posts?replies=9#post-1237777 and here

Any help would be much appreciated!

The blog I need help with is spoonandhammer.com.

  6. Thanks!

  7. @1Tess
I have yet to see Staff restore images in situations like these. It's my understanding the image caches are cleared frequently and that we have to capture what we can from Google's image cache and upload again.

  8. I have seen one or two cases where the images were restored - BUT - they can only do a full site restore (not individual images) so any content added since the restore point is lost.

  9. That's fine! I can live with that.

  10. @timethief,
Yes, the op gave two examples of a site restore, including pictures in the media library. That's why I modlooked this. I think I've seen others as well.

  11. Because of the nature of restoring a blog and what's involved, we are unable to restore blog content for users when they have deleted their own content.

ynez9128, if you would like to replace those images, you will need to upload them again and link them back to your posts as they were originally. You may wish to refer to the link timethief kindly provided for finding the cached images.

  12. This is a more restrictive search - you might try this one first then the one from @TT above

    https://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1024&bih=558&q=http%3A%2F%2Fspoonandhammer.com%2F&oq=http%3A%2F%2Fspoonandhammer.com%2F&gs_l=img.12...2674.2674.0.3794.1.1.0.0.0.0.152.152.0j1.1.0....0...1ac.2.28.img..1.0.0.ExGYGf49JEs#filter=0&hl=en&q=*.files.themamadiariesph.wordpress.com&tbm=isch

  13. The link broke - the search string I used is below

    *.files.themamadiariesph.wordpress.com

That only looks for images with the name of the base WordPress.COM blog

  14. Thank you all for your help!
