The blog I need help with is gedpotteryblog.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there,

If you're logging in to one of the WordPress apps on your mobile device, you can set up an application-specific password by following the instructions on this page: Two Step Authentication - Application-Specific Passwords

Then, you can use that app-specific password to log in to the WordPress app on your mobile. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

  3. Hi rachel,
Thanks for your help, i realised what the problem was. Can you tell me if its limiting in buy a Theme or is a good was to start build a new website.

  4. Hi Ged,

You're welcome — I'm glad you were able to figure it out. :)

I'm not sure I understand your next question, though. Can you explain a little more what you're trying to do?

If you want to start a new website, you can sign up for a new one at WordPress.com here: https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/

You can also browse all of our themes in our Theme Showcase and get tips for working with WordPress.com in our Learn WordPress.com tutorial. If that doesn't answer your question, please let me know and I will be happy to help further. :)

  5. Sorry my question is about the pros and cons of buying a premium Theme. To what extent are you able to change these templates or themes. I suppose I am thinking along the lines of a House. Can you strip these Themes back to the brick work or on the other hand completely change the contents of the house? With that in mind is it better to start from scratch or get a leg up, and pay for the foundations to be built.

  6. Hi Ged,

Whether you're using a free or a premium theme at WordPress.com, you can customize it using our Custom Design upgrade (including custom colors, fonts, and CSS). Each theme also comes with some built-in, free options for customizing the theme. This often includes customizing the header image and background, although certain themes include quite a few other options — you can browse our Theme Showcase for more details about what's included in each theme.

However, at WordPress.com you can't edit the theme's core PHP or template files. We have more about that here: Themes - Editing themes

If you'd like full control over your theme's files, or the ability to upload your own themes, you may prefer to self-host your site using the WordPress software from WordPress.org. You can read more about how WordPress.org differs from WordPress.com here: WordPress.com and WordPress.org

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
