Help me choose a theme for my school trip blog? Please?

I am about to go on a school ski trip and would love to keep the families back home updated with a daily account of what we’ve been up to. I would like to show a few paragraphs of text, and about 12 to 18 photos per day. The photos could appear as thumbnails, if necessary, which could be opened by the parents back home.
I am at a loss to know where to start and would really appreciate someone’s help and suggestions!

You can pick a theme of your choice from the theme directory here. If you are logged in to your WordPress.com account you can try them on your site and see if you like it.

Here is a list of themes that support galleries. I think there is no such thing as a best theme. Each theme has a specific feel and purpose behind it. They will shine if they are used for that specific purpose. Feel free to choose one that you like.
