Help migrating followers from .com to .org

I've moved from a WordPress.com blog (compassandquill.wordpress.com) to a WordPress.org site (www.compassandquill.com). I've already read the community conversations that say to migrate followers, you have to install Jetpack, connect the .org site to .com, then contact .com customer support to have them help do the final step of migrating customers over.

I've completed all of the initial steps. However, I can't find anywhere on this site to actually contact a real member of WP staff - all of the available links keep leading back to the community support contact form. Since asking the community a question seems to be my only way to get WP's attention, I guess that's what I'll have to do. Please WP, if you're reading this, could you please help migrate my followers over? Thanks!

The blog I need help with is compassandquill.wordpress.com.

  2. Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you have posted the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. I tagged this thread for their attention.

Thanks timethief. I still haven't heard anything from them, which is a bit disappointing, but I'll keep at it.

  4. Staff work their way forward form all threads with the earliest date and time stamps to the most recent ones, as would be expected. All you need to do is practice is patience while they help the bloggers who posted before you did.

That comes off as a bit curt. But I'm sure if you spend a lot of time on the community help section you're used to running into people who're terribly impatient all of the time. Me, not so much :-)

I'm fine with this process taking as much time as the WP team needs - it's just nice to know that someone who can help me has seen that I need help at some point. Had you not written in to tell me that someone would be helping eventually, I would have had no clue that anyone ever would.

  6. Hi again,
I'm so sorry that you felt my answer was curt because it wasn't meant to be. :(

I don't just type a modlook tag in the sidebar of threads to notify Staff and fail to post a comment into the thread. I post into the thread so bloggers know the thread is tagged for Staff. When I find someone else has typed a modlook tag for Staff into the sidebar and has failed to tell the blogger that Staff help has been requested then I post to tell them.

That's really helpful info - I'd never heard of a modlook tag, so I just went and looked it up. Good stuff! Thanks for adding that, and I'll remember it in the future :-)

  8. Hi there, I transferred your stats and followers to your new blog at compassandquill.com, as requested. :)

Your email followers will continue to receive email updates, and your WordPress.com followers will continue to see your new posts in the Reader. If your WordPress.com followers would like to receive email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on your new blog.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
