Help moving Followers/Stats over to New Site

  1. Hi there. Please can a member of staff help me to move over my 'followers' and 'blog stats' over from jayrando.wordpress.com to jayrando.com? I believe i have connected both the sites with jetpack properly but if not let me know :)

While i am here i have another related question too.. i cant delete one of the free sites associated to my account, it is: wheretogetrelationshipadvice.wordpress.com which i have registered under 'my blogs'.. I wish to remove my ownership from it but cannot find an option to do this or erase it from the 'my blogs' menu..

    Many thanks for your help.
    Jay

The blog I need help with is jayrando.wordpress.com.

  2. I've tagged this for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to this discussion using the subscribe link in the sidebar if you haven't already so that you will see their reply. Also, thanks for being patient while waiting as Staff have been at a meetup and there is a backlog of forum posts for their attention and waiting time may be a bit longer than usual.

  3. Thanks Justjennifer. I have subscribed to this topic and will pop back on later. No worries, i'm probably the most patient person ever haha :) Cheers

PS: i just realized before my 'blog subscription' widget was missing from my new site so have corrected that just in case.

  4. Your WordPress.com subscribers and email followers have been transferred as requested.

Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they'll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.

You might think about setting up a Site Redirect for your WordPress.com site at jayrando.wordpress.com to send your site visitors to your new domain. Otherwise, people will still be able to subscribe on your old site.

I have also merged your stats for you.

Do you wish to permanently delete the blog wheretogetrelationshipadvice.wordpress.com? If so, please confirm and I will delete it for you.

  5. Thanks Jackiedana.

Question.. I noticed you said any wordpress.com followers will need to subscribe on the new site. Just wondering.. Is there a way i can let those followers know about the move? I was thinking to simply leave a new post on my old blog to let them know i have moved.

I have also paid for the site re-direct today and configured it. Have left the permalinks in the same form as old site.

Affirmative, definitely delete the following blog > wheretogetrelationshipadvice.wordpress.com

    Cheers :)

  6. If someone has followed your blog via WordPress.com, there is no direct correlation to that on a self-hosted blog, which is the reason I mentioned the email follower option.

Rather than post something on your old blog, you may want to make a note on your new one, since all of your followers have been migrated there, and may not see a notice on your old blog now.

I have deleted wheretogetrelationshipadvice.wordpress.com for you.
