Help needed choosing the right theme.

  1. Ok, I'm new to this, but I wanted to know a few things before I delve head first into this option. I want to built a blog site based on this site, well similar: http://www.omega-3centre.com. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to have multiple pages that pull up from the top menu and open new pages up with different content on either the right hand side of the page or on the bottom. To be able to have different pictures as a link to open up into more information, leading to different articles, studies, etc. Then every top menu button to have a different look than the home page as you open it, and all the information to change accordingly. Please let me know what theme will be able to do that and where can I find it. I've looked at Hero (free theme) but it doesn't seem like it will be able to handle that. Please contact me at: [email redacted]

The blog I need help with is salfutingurapebuddy.wordpress.com.

  2. 1) "multiple pages that pull up from the top menu and open new pages up".
Yes, easily, on practically any theme.

    2) "different pictures as a link to open up into more information, leading to different articles, studies, etc".
If you mean as on the lower part of the site you linked to, these will have to be posts. Possible on several themes - themes with a grid layout (such as Hero or The Columnist) or maybe themes with a featured posts slider.

    3) "every top menu button to have a different look than the home page as you open it"...
Usually the active tab is highlighted in some way.
..."and all the information to change accordingly"
Isn't this the same as no.1?

  3. Thank you for your reply. I meant the "sidebar" to have different pictures with either products or promotions or picture-links to other articles or posts that are on their own pages. Hopefully you understand "newbe"
because I feel lost at this. Also on the bottom footer, can I have three or four images as links that will take my reader to other posts or articles. Let me clarify this; I want on every page to have at the footer 3-4 images. So if I have 6 buttons in my Navigation Menu, I will end up with 18 images all together !!! Can that be done ???
Also what do you think about the Premium Theme- Further $150.
How can I see exactly what is being offered for that $150 ????
Thank you for your quick response. Once again I'm terribly sorry for asking newbe questions. Some may seem as they are repeating.

  4. You should review the terms of service before you get too far along

The site you link to and your sample pages indicate you might be promoting and selling omega-3 supplements with content that might be borrowed from other sites - e-commerce is not possible here - great place for original content blogs - not a good place to sell things

  5. Thank you "auxclass"
The idea for starting this blog came to me from a book I picked up at Barnes and Noble, entitled; Blog Inc. by Joy Deangdeelert Cho
Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community.

So if this is not the case than might as well give up now on all the blogs that I've seen that promote or sell or even have online stores attached to them. I don't mean to sound full of myself but isn't an article that is published somewhere else on the web can be referenced by other sites or blogs. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel but only trying to hop on a spoke of it. Thanks for your candid reply.
We need more people like you in the world.

  6. e-commerce is fine - just not here -

many people try to make money on the internet - most I am told don't do all that well -

you can hire your own host and install the WordPress.ORG software (software is free) and you are off to the races - if you have affiliate links to a product I would think the company that makes the product might even have images and product descriptions that you can use -

Yes you can reference another article on the web - happens all the time - but if you take the whole article - even if you have a link back you can have problems - depends on how the content is licensed - some pictures for instance are you can use them but all you need to do is give the owner credit and a link back - other pictures you pay for - depends on the owner of the content -

You be welcome & good luck

I did not want you to do a lot of work and have your blog suspended because the TOS was not read - happens all the time however
