Help starting out and setting up my page

    Good Morning,

    I am having problems with my account: http://www.theperfecthostevents.com

    I have emailed before and am now email with a detailed list of what is wrong.

    When we first opened up our account with wordpress, we never received a tutorial on how to set up the page. We have purchased luscious theme. With this theme we are having problems creating drop down menus etc.
    Can we have a tutorial on how to run this theme.

    Also we are having problems uploading 3rd party plug-ins and wiggets. We can figure out how to log in on the back end ftp client , like with go daddy how you would log on to filezilla.
    Could we get the login info for the back end and how to access it?

    The custom menu wiggets are also not working for this theme.

    From the begining when i bought this theme i sent emails because our page is still acting like a blog more than a website now. My friends use word press as well and have bought the aditional packages and there pages look much different when they are editing even where you type in your address looks different with theres showing there website address and mine showing .wordpress.com.

    There is a video on every free hosted WordPress.com blog on the Dashboard. There is also a Helo World post with resource links in it. In addition on the bottom of every Admin page are these links >

    Your theme is a premium theme and we Volunteers answering questions on this forum have no knowledge of how they are designed to operate. When you purchased your premium theme what came with that purchase was support directly from the theme designer in the Premium Theme Support Forum. There is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard.

    Also we are having problems uploading 3rd party plug-ins and wiggets. We can figure out how to log in on the back end ftp client , like with go daddy how you would log on to filezilla.

    There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

    I can help you with the drop down menu if you like. I have a tutorial video on it. I have the same theme.

    I think you really need to start here: http://learn.wordpress.com

    You cannot upload external themes, you cannot use FTP, and you cannot add plugins to a WordPress.COM blog. You do not receive any special tutorials or support other than that provided by the forum and the regular Help form. If you need more support than the links provided by TT and the other resources mentioned, then you will have to find someone and pay them to help you.

    I suggest NOT jumping in the deep end with a premium, customizable theme and a lot of upgrades until you know how the blog works. Give yourself a couple of weeks at least.
