help to restore original theme header for Elegant Grunge

  1. Someone created a custom header that I want to remove but don't read code and do not know how to restore to original.
    Can anyone advise?
    Any help will be met with much gratitude!

    The blog I need help with is shawnakirk.wordpress.com.

  2. Go to appearance > header and click the "restore original header" button and then click save changes.

  3. I appreciate your response. I think what I am dealing with is a deeper coding issue because of the theme that I currently have loaded. I do not see any "restore original header" button.

    My friend did everything in code so the header image that was made is not even in the media library, does not show up in the header dialog box.

  4. You blog is private and we cannot see it. Do you have the CSS upgrade? If so then the header URL will be embedded in the CSS stylesheet. I recommend that you contact Staff if you experience no success doing what TSP told you to do. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  5. You are brilliant, that is exactly what I am looking at, thank you. I dont want to go live with the script and font that was used, it is not "me" at all.
    I don't know enough code to discern what I can remove.
    It is somewhere in here I bet? Somewhere there is an override of the original?

    <?php elegant_grunge_the_favicon() ?>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_url'); ?>" type="text/css" media="screen" />
    <?php if ( get_option('header_image') ) : ?>
    <style type="text/css">
    #header div {
    background: url(<?php echo get_option('header_image') ?>) no-repeat center top;
    width: 100%;
    height: 100%;
    display: block;
    }
    #header * {
    display: none;
    }
    </style>
    <?php endif; ?>
    <!--[if IE]>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ?>/ie.css" />
    <style type="text/css">
    #footer #subscribe a {
    background:none;
    filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='<?php bloginfo('template_url')?>/images/rss.png');
    }
    <?php if ( get_option('header_image') ) : ?>
    #header div {
    background: none;
    filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='<?php echo get_option('header_image')?>');
    }
    <?php endif; ?>
    </style>
    <![endif]-->

    <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="<?php bloginfo('name'); ?> RSS Feed" href="<?php bloginfo('rss2_url'); ?>" />
    <link rel="pingback" href="<?php bloginfo('pingback_url'); ?>" />

    <?php echo get_option("extra_header") ?>

    <?php if ( is_singular() ) wp_enqueue_script( 'comment-reply' ); ?>

    <?php wp_head(); ?>

    </head>

  6. We cannot access the PHP in the templates underlying our themes at wordpress.com let alone edit it. This is a multiuser blogging platform and that means all blogs wearing the same theme use the same template. Only Staff can edit templates as every edit made affects every blog wearing the same theme.

    Please answer these questions:
    Do you have the paid and annually renewable wordpress.com CSS editing upgrade or not? Yes or No?
    Has the theme been CSS edited or not? Yes or No?

  7. yes paid, right multi-user platform of course!

    Actual theme edited, I think not!

    I will ask boss, it is simply an image banner over the original.

    I cant find it the simple stupid method and I figured that TSP was very generous with the smarts and perhaps might tell me if he or someone sees it in the code.
    Thanks, I intend to get in touch with support.
