help with custom header

  1. when i try to do a custom header, the site title is showing up above my page menu and then new header image is showing up below that menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have removed the header image for now, but can put it back in if that is helpful in figuring it out. I would like the header image to replace the site title...the site is jennifer-savage.com.

    The blog I need help with is jennifer-savage.com.

  2. Yeah, it would be best to see it with the header so that we can figure out what is happening.

  3. okay, so i uploaded the custom header through the appearance menu. Thanks again for any help!

  4. OK, what exactly are you looking for? Do you want to replace the existing site title section with the header image?

  5. essentially, yes. I thought by uploading the custom header, that would work, but for some reason, its in that other spot.

  6. It has to do with where the header image is in relation to the other header area elements. Delete the existing header image and give the following a try.

    #logo {
    background: url("http://jennifersavagemt.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/blog_header22.png") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
    height: 198px;
    width: 940px;
    }

    .site-title {
    display: none;
    }

    #pagenav {
    margin-top: 0;
    }
  7. Thanks, that did the trick.

  8. You are welcome. If you want to move the pagenav up a little more, you can use a negative pixel value for margin-top such as -20px .
