help with deleted home page?

I was trying to make a static home page and a separate posts page. Somehow I deleted a necessary page (the home page?) because now the blog doesn't show up at all except for some coding.
Can anyone tell me how I can restore my home page, or if it's best to get worpress to delete all my content so I could re-install it and start again from scratch?
    Thank you

  2. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

In the event that you created a static front page and failed to designate a page for your posts to appear on create a page and see > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

  3. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of your blog appeared because you deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
