Help with domain

  1. I just purchased a domain from wordpress, and I want to switch to webs, but keep the domain name. How do I make my webs blog my domain name I purchased from wordpress?

The blog I need help with is colossuscomics.net.

  2. Please post and avtive link starting with http:// to the blog in question when posting to this forum. I have no idea what you means by switch to webs. Do you mean this? If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. If so then follow the Update Nameservers instructions please.

  3. Hey there! I see that you have a domain registered with WordPress.com. If you'd like to use that domain name with a different service/hosting, you have several options:

    1. Keep using your domain with your WordPress.com blog and create a subdomain ( CNAME or A record ) for the new service/hosting. This way you can keep using both. Custom DNS comes with all domains mapped to WordPress.com with no additional cost. Learn more here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/

    2. Keep your domain registered with WordPress.com and change its name servers to point to your new hosting/service provider. As @timethief mentioned above, you can do this using your Domain Manager panel. Note that in this case, although you will no longer be using your domain with your WordPress.com blog, you will still have to renew your domain subscriptions every year.

    3. Transfer your domain to a different domain registrar. You will have to renew your domain every year at your new domain registrar, so you can cancel your WordPress.com domain subscriptions.

The second and third options are described here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/

Also note that if you move your domain away from WordPress.com and use it with another service, you can still map a subdomain if you wish to continue using your WordPress.com blog but with a different address, for example blog.example.org.

Let me know if you have further questions.

    Thanks!
