Help with Suburbia Theme

  1. I activated the Suburbia theme today. While the demo shows pictures, mine does not. What do you do to show pictures above posts?
    Thanks, Amanda

The blog I need help with is foleyhighschoolleadership.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi guys,

I'm in the same position as mouzekateerz5: http://everythingforethics.wordpress.com/

I've tried just about everything I can think of to the pictures (changed alignments, sizes, etc, even made a post which was solely a picture), but this hasn't had any effect. I've also tried looking in the theme 'customize' menu, but can't find anything relating to the display of post images.

The widget area is displaying images, though.

    Thanks,

    Liam

  3. Help with Suburbia theme! Anybody!

  4. Ha, I spoke too soon. I just figured it out.

When uploading an image, you need to check 'Use as a featured image'.

If you need to do this retroactively for a number of post images (as I had to) you'll need to delete the image and reinsert it (it should be there in the gallery anyway, so it's no major biggy).

    Hope this helps!

  5. That totally worked. Thanks for working it out. I would have never gotten that on my own. Shame these things do not come with instructions?! Thanks again!
    A.

  6. You need to set featured images of the correct dimensions in the posts and make them sticky posts.

    live demo site http://suburbiademo.wordpress.com/

On the main page, Suburbia doesn't display regularly inserted images. They only display when a post is viewed on its own page - not on the front page.

To have front page image display you need to set a featured image to each post and make each post a sticky post. The size of the featured image does matter. The featured image works best with images at least 350 by 248 (width, height).

    Stcky posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

The "S" is the header image that you can replace with one of your own. The custom header image is 155 by 155 (width, height). That header image can be replaced here > Appearance > Header.

If you don’t see the Featured Image module on your Add New or Edit Post page, please make sure you’ve selected Featured Image in your Screen Options. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options
