Hide a static page & use it as your frontpage

  1. Hi,

I made a blog some hours ago but I'm encountering some trouble.
I'd like my frontpage to be a static page but I do not want that static page to be shown in the menu bar with all the other pages.

    Could anyone help me please?

    Thanks in advance,
    Lora

The blog I need help with is lorawow.wordpress.com.

  2. Simply set your static front page from Settings -> Reading - http://support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ - and then 'hide' that page from your primary navigation menu - http://support.wordpress.com/pages/hide-pages/#hide-from-the-navigation-menu

  3. Well after I've hidden it, the page is called: Private: (name)

  4. Hiding means setting another page as its parent, not turning it private.

  5. Thanks for the help. My bad. :)
    It's fine now.

  6. Try this - http://theworldsfullof.us/?p=35

I use it, uncheck a box and the page is there, normal but not listed in any automated navigation menus.

    Happy surfing :)

  7. That link is for a blog "powered by WordPress" i.e. a WordPress.org blog.
The information is not useful for WordPress.com blogs. We can not use plug-ins.
The two kinds of WordPress are different from each other:
