Hiding Category and Tags in Every Post [Stay Theme]

  1. Hello, I'd like to seek further assistance on how to hide category and tags in every blog post, so that the only thing visible are the published date and leave comment options.

    I want to use a customized Stay theme, but I have not switched to it yet. I want to know if it's possible to get the CSS prior to switching themes. I have used some help from another thread using Suits theme.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Jae

    The blog I need help with is gorjaeous.com.

  2. Hi Jae,

    Yeah, that should be possible to be done on Stay theme.

    Here's the custom CSS just to be quick :)

    footer.entry-meta .cat-links,
    footer.entry-meta .tags-links,
    footer.entry-meta .sep {
    	display: none;
    }
  3. Hello, hafizr! That was quick! Thanks, it worked! :)

  4. Ah, but they still appear on individual posts. Should you post something new to make it work for individual posts?

    Sorry for the trouble!

  5. The single page view's HTML is unfortunately not granular enough to allow me to cherrypick which part to hide and which part to show, so here's the next best solution: it hides the entire text, from categories, tags, and bookmark link message.

    body.single .entry-meta {
    	display: none;
    }
  6. Aha, let me try that one...

  7. Unfortunately, the second code removes the date entirely...
    I wish I know how to tweak these things so I don't trouble anyone else. :(

  8. Sorry, my mistake on that one. Didn't notice the date part. Try this one instead, should work fine :)

    body.single footer.entry-meta {
    	display: none;
    }
  9. Okay, let me try that one again...

  10. I think it's been sorted out, except there's still the Author name in individual posts. If it isn't too much of a trouble, can you help me with that one part, please?

  11. To hide the author, but leave the date under the title on Stay posts, use the following CSS.

    .single .byline, .group-blog .byline {
        display: none;
    }
  12. Hi, thesacredpath. I added the code you suggested; it did hide the author details, but the categories and tags were still visible. What we're trying to achieve here is:

    Home page/Individual posts: Hidden author details, tags and categories; visible date

    Thank you!

  13. Hi, @thesacredpath's CSS was correct for hiding the author info, so you will want to combine it with my previous CSS to get the complete effect:

    body.single footer.entry-meta {
    	display: none;
    }
    .single .byline, .group-blog .byline {
        display: none;
    }
  14. Finally, it's working! Thank you, thesacredpath and hafizr! You've been great!

  15. You are welcome.
