    The blog I need help with is familyspiritadventures.com.

  2. You don't need CSS to do this. Open your static pages in the editor and from the page template pulldown in the attributes module at right of the text area, select "one column, no sidebar" and update the page.

    All post related pages (family room, categories, tags, archives) will then retain whatever layout you have set under appearance > theme options.

    great have done that and it works, however the one column is narrower than the original template and has thrown my formatting out. how can i adjust the width to my liking?

  4. Add these to your CSS and then adjust the max widths as desired adding the same amount to each.

    #wrapper {
    max-width: 850px;
    }

    .two-column #container {
    max-width: 770px;
    }
