Hiding site title using css

  1. Hi, I just posted this question in the support forum, but I think this may be the better place to post it. I'm fairly new to WordPress.

    I've upgraded to a custom design page, and would like to know if it's possible to hide the site title and tagline using css. In addition, I would like to have a placeholder so that the rest of the page doesn't shift up when I remove the title and tagline. I was able to enter some code that hides both of these, but it shifted the rest of the page up is partially obscuring the background image at the top of my page.

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    The blog I need help with is visionforyou.wordpress.com.

  2. I do not help with CSS editing. For the sake of continuity I am posting the link to the original thread > http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/is-it-possible-to-make-the-site-title-invisible?replies=7

  3. First off, take this out of your CSS.

    #header #logo h1 {
        display: none;
    }

    Then add this.

    #header #logo h1 a {
    display: none;
    }
    #header {
    margin-top: 85px;
    }`

  4. Oops, I messed up on my code tags. Add this.

    #header #logo h1 a {
    display: none;
    }

    #header {
    margin-top: 85px;
    }
  5. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It worked perfectly.

  6. You are welcome.
