Home page

  1. My site it ghostwritingservice.wordpress.com
But when I go to the site the front page is blank and If you click on one of the " Home" tabs it takes you to the correct page. That's the page I want to open up wen someone looks at the site. I don't want them to see the blank home page. I want them to see the home page that had all of the Info on it. How do I do that. I don't need 2 "home" tabs. I have been. Trying to figure out how to make the good home page appear when someone goes to the site.

The blog I need help with is ghostwritingservice.wordpress.com.

  2. Nothing Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.

By default the front page of your blog displays all posts. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of the blog appeared because the Admin of the blog deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear. Read the differences between Pages and Posts.

  3. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

    Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page

Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.

If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

    Front page displays
    __ Your latest posts

    A static page (select below)
    Front page:
    Posts page:

  4. Among the most common misconceptions is that bloggers fail to understand is
    (1) there is only one page we can post to one any blog and
    (2) the static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ they create do not automatically update.
Only the dynamic pages like Categories, Tags and Archives created by the software when we publish a post we that we have assigned Categories and Tags too will update automatically update with posts.

By default the front page of the blog is the post that displays all posts in your blog. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

There are many common errors, misunderstandings and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here. > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
