My home page is not displaying under page menu on dashboard, however, when I type my blog url on the address bar of my browser I can see the home page. Moreover when I click on page under my blogs from wordpress.com main page it gives me a 404 error. Need some help. BTW my posts are there on dashboard.

The Home Page is a dynamic page made up of all your posts, therefore you won't see it in the Page Menu in the Dashboard, unless you have opted to have a static page as the front page of your blog, which you have not. Please also see here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
As far as the second problem you mention, receiving a 404 error when clicking on the Pages link under "My Blogs" on the front page of WordPress.com, I had the same result when clicking as well. This should be reported to Support http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

thank you so much for the reply. but if I click on the static page option, I can only see the about page in the drop down box. And I remember opening the home page from dashboard yesterday. May be I am wrong, just got confused with so many options.
