  1. How do go about deleting a home page and replacing it with another?

  2. Well, your home page is just a list of your most recent posts.

  3. Thanks drmike.

Why does my homepage address(www.bushtelegraph.wordpress.com/)display the following message:

    "Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here"

How do I add, say, an intro (a 'teaser') to this page address?

    Regards,
    Ian

  4. I dont know why in your case, but for many blogs on wordpress.com when I get "Not Found Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here" I reload current page or press F5 or Ctrl F5 and things have always come right.

I dont know what you mean by 'teaser' in page address. It may be that you change or adjust your byline under your blog title; or better: put your teaser in the top part of the red side bar - I'm not familiar with what that theme will allow.

  5. "Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here" usually is a sign that you don't have any Posts. You probably deleted the sample one that gets installed and you havn't written any since then.

  6. Sorry drmike, that's never been the case with wordpress blogs I've visited. It's always been fixable.

Ian, go to your dashboard, to presentation, to sidebar widgets, to text, drag text widget to sidebar, write your teaser. I just put one up on my blog temporarily for you.

Somehow in mucking around with themes, I lost my links - well, all I had to do is drag the limks widget into the sidebar and they were back.

  7. Sorry drmike, that's never been the case with wordpress blogs I've visited. It's always been fixable.

Here you go. It's from deleteing all the Posts which I did to get that error. :)

Never said it wasn't fixable. I said that he or she need to write a Post.

and you havn't written any since then.

  8. Ian had a post on 2006-07-06 prior to the subsequent discussion. The problem is too simple.

  9. Have no idea who Ian is. Their blog is now working.
