In the list of pages (Reference) in my sidebar, I'd like to have alternative text show when visitors hover over these links.
The blog I need help with is ollilifeusf.org.
Then you need to put that in as text under "Description" when you add those links. And choose a theme that displays it (I believe most do).
Here are the instructions for entering Links > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/ If you do as raincoaster suggests and complete the "description" field then it will appear when readers hover over the link.
"Show link description – Displays the description specified in your links."
