    please help
    thanks

The blog I need help with is nbos.wordpress.com.

  2. You can't. That is, with custom CSS, you could, but not if you don't want to keep your blog. You may not change the footer identifying the location of your blog host & the info about the theme & its creator.

If you want to have complete control over your blog & the way it appears, you need to download a free theme and go to a self-hosted blog. Even then, the requirements of using the free theme may mean that you have to keep the attribution at the bottom of the page -- I don't know very much about WordPress.org installs. (You need to go to the wp.org support pages for that information.)

  3. *that should read: but not if you want to keep your blog.

  4. You can't. That is, with custom CSS, you could

I am sorry but that's not true. Removing the footer credit links is not allowed.

May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

  5. Exactly what I said, it's not allowed. Simply because one can do something does not mean that it is permitted, which is what I told the person:

You may not change the footer identifying the location of your blog host & the info about the theme & its creator.

  6. sorry but my english are not so good
but why i'm not permitted to hide or remove them?
can i put in the footer more words? like that" 2011 nbos | (here the rest of the footer)" ?

I posted above so the relevant support documentation link would be included in this thread. :)

  8. No. It is required by wordpress.com that you keep the footer exactly as it is.

You are not allowed to change the footer.

The footer must stay the same. :)

  9. @timethief -- ah, gotcha! Hope you're having a good morning!

  10. damn :(
anyway, thanks a lot for your help :)

  11. The Terms of Service you agree to when you have a site hosted on WordPress.COM have certain conditions. As noted above one of the conditions is you do not hide the footer information.

For more on what you agreed to: http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

  12. i didn't hide the footer, yes, i won't do something like that because its not permitted by wordpress.com.
thanks a lot for the infos

  13. In at least one theme I've had you can add a copyright statement to the footer. Try clicking around the options under Appearance to see if you can find a place to do that. I don't remember where it was.

  14. @nbos
What you can do is place the copyright in a text widget.
