How can I install Diary/Notebook theme to my wordpress?

  1. Which for a starter: I'm a free user. With that in mind: I've been trying to install: http://www.site5.com/blog/s5/new-wordpress-theme-diarynotebook/20110516/ --this theme on my recently created WordPress blog, something I've achieved pretty easily in my Blogger; and that not being the case when it comes to WordPress giving me a setting to simply upload such Zip and ualá! I'm ready.

I'm just tired of believing in Google, a company I've devoted my time in pushing towards family and friends alike, though by disabling my account recently, losing me all my stories and poem, I simply feel betrated; and from there would love to make the transition from Blogger to WordPress as smooth. But I really need that theme to get me going.

Any idea? Thank you in advance.

The blog I need help with is stb1990.wordpress.com.

We cannot add themes at wordpress.COM. We are limited to the 170+ (and growing) themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

Themes at wordpress.COM have to be modified to work within the restrictions here and to support the unique features.

The differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org (self-hosted) sites.

For a diary type of theme, you might consider Manifest which is a single column and would showcase your entries without the clutter of a sidebar. Chateau is also nice with great typography. It does have a sidebar.

You might also want to look at Notepad which has a notepad background.

  5. So, this only appear for WordPress.org and no .com? I understand, thank you.

  6. Can someone add that theme though? Please!

I'll tag this to have it moved to the themes forum and then staff can see it and consider it, but there is no guarantee. It depends on a lot of factors.

Also know that if they do decide to add it it might be 3-6 months or possibly even more.

  9. Thank you! I'll wait nonetheless! Anything to get away from t me nightmare that blogger has caused, is just fine.

  10. I wouldn't wait. The vast majority of requested themes are never enabled here, and they can take up to three years to be approved. Just pick a theme you can live with for now and get blogging. If you like it, you might want to learn CSS editing so you can control the look of your theme yourself.
