   I noticed that some social networking sites ask you to donate your content to the public domain in order to use their service. My blog has original artistic content, and I'm looking for free ways to promote that permit me to retain my intellectual property rights. I thought you all might have some good ideas!

   Unless you specifically give away or sell rights, all rights are your own. The only right publishing at WP.com requires you to give them is the right to publish your content ie, the right for them to take your posts and put them on your blog.

   If you're looking for ways to promote writing or art, well, you're probably much better off in forums devoted to marketing.
