How can I remove ''category archives:''?

  1. how can I remove the ''category archives:'' text from the categories?

    for instance
    http://panosantonopoulos.com/category/paintings/

    The blog I need help with is panosantonopoulos.com.

  2. Hi, this will remove "Category Archives:" and leave the category name.

    .archive #content h1.page-title {
        visibility: hidden;
    }
    .archive #content h1.page-title span {
        visibility: visible;
        float: left;
    }
  3. thanks, and how can I move the category name on the left as did for the posts? same for pages, and how to extend pages on the left as did for the posts?

    many many thanks

  4. Ah, I missed that because my browser window wasn't wide enough. Add the following to take the content full width on pages and take the titles to the left.

    .page .entry-content, .archive .entry-title, .archive .page-title, .post_title h1, .post_title h2 {
    margin-left: 50px;
    }

    .page .entry-content {
        width: 910px;
    }

    And the following will take the comment box to the left aligned under the content and make it the same width as the content.

    #comments {
        padding-left: 50px;
        width: 910px;
    }
  5. and how to make category and pages titles bold

  6. You've taken care of static pages. To make the category titles bold, turn this:

    .archive #content h1.page-title span {
    visibility: visible;
    float: left;
    }

    to:

    .archive #content h1.page-title span {
    visibility: visible;
    float: left;
    font-weight: bold;
    }
  7. is there a way to add to the features images the text I want or it must be the same as the posts?

  8. You edit each post and enter the text you want into the Excerpt module of the post editor.
    If you don't see the Excerpt module when you edit a post, click Screen Options (top right) to enable it.

  9. i saw it, but when i enable it and then update it is lost...any ideas why?

  10. Sorry, your question isn't clear to me. What you're supposed to do is edit a post, click Screen Options and check "Excerpt". You only do this once: after you do it, the Excerpt module should be visible below the main edit box no matter which post you edit. You type text (can include code) into the Excerpt module, then you click Update.

  11. ok got it, but I did not mean in the home page but in the category pages

    for instance

  12. That's not possible, except if you add custom texts in the CSS editor for each and every post you create (which would be too far-fetched).

  13. Hi, thanks for the responses above.

    I'm working in Suburbia theme where the code doesn't seem to work. What do I need to modify to get the 'Category: Archives' bit out?

    Thanks.

  14. Most CSS editing is theme specific, because each theme has a different structure and uses different selectors.

    The way Suburbia is coded, you cannot literally remove the 'Category: Archives' bit. What you could do is remove the whole heading and create a substitute for each category, i.e. add as many pieces of code for as many categories, typing the name of each category manually. Are you prepared to do this?
