How can I remove the grey border line around my post image?

    I used to be able to do this by clicking onto the editing image that would appear as a mountain over the image, then go to advanced settings and insert an '0'. However, now the editing symbol is a pencil and the options have changed leaving me unable to work out how to get rid of the grey line. Very annoying as it took me ages to figure it out the last time and all the forum topics that deal with this subject refer to the old format (i.e. the mountain). Any help would be wonderful. Just please keep instructions simple. I'm a novice when it comes to anything technical.

    The blog I need help with is emmaswritingroom.wordpress.com.

    Not really. I don't even know where to find text editor. And where would I place all that code? Sorry, I said I was a novice but I appreciate the quick response. I've often spent more time trying to figure issues like this out than on the blogs themselves!

    Ok, I've found the text editor. This is what's in it;

    <img class="aligncenter wp-image-1008 size-medium" src="http://emmaswritingroom.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/lunch-tupperware.jpg?w=300" alt="Lunch Tupperware" width="300" height="199" />

    Do I just add what is suggested in your link to what is already there?

  4. When creating a post or page on your WordPress.com blog, you have two editing modes available to you Visual and Text (HTML), depending on which you are most comfortable with.

    Please note that the Text editing mode is only available when using the post editor in your site’s dashboard and not via the WordPress.com home page quick post editor.

    Switching between the Visual and Text editing modes is easy. Just click either the Visual or Text tabs directly above the right side of the editing area. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/#text-editor
    Here are the basics:
    The accepted file types are here http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/#images

    This is a link to instructions for uploading a header image http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/#uploading-a-custom-header-image

    For uploading images posts and pages see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/
    Here are more details about the options for uploading images http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/04/26/images-the-three-link-options/
    For editing see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-editing/
    For troubleshooting images see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/troubleshooting-images/

    You can simply focus on uploading the images as is, rather than focusing on minor details like removing borders, which will require fiddling with coding. But if you still want to remove image borders then Staff will help you. Go to the sidebar on this thread and type in modlook for Staff attention. Then subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    Thank you for your help. I have looked through the links you've attached but none deal, specifically, with the grey border (at least not that I could see). It is frustrating having it appear on post images as it spoils the over-all effect. I just wish I was more technically resourceful so that I could sort it out myself. However, I've done what you suggested in connecting up to Staff attention and hopefully I'll hear back from someone soon.

    Thank you again.

  7. Hi there,

    Just an update, I have great news.

    Fabulous! A quick response and a proper solution (even one that I can understand). Thanks so much (and to time thief who may have come to my aid once before). Suspect this editing addition will make a lot of WordPress users very happy.
