How did my IP address get blacklisted?

  1. So I'm trying to get into my blog admin and I am getting the following message:

Access denied. Your IP address [68.191.32.199] is blacklisted. If you feel this is in error please contact your hosting providers abuse department.

Just trying to figure out how this happened and how to fix it. It only happens on my home network. If I use my IPhone, I get the message when I am on my home network but not when I turn off the wifi and use it on AT&T 4G. I have tried resetting my IP address with no luck and charter was unable to reset it on their end.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Which country are you in please? I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

  3. Also please post the URL for your blog as it's not linked to your username.

You've reached support for the free sites hosted at WordPress.com.

Your site at http://www.joylifeartphotography.com/blog is hosted by BlueHost and is using a custom Zenfolio site. Because your site is self-hosted with a different provider, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site's files or the ability to provide support for your current issue.

You would need to contact BlueHost for assistance with your current issue.

    I hope that clarifies things.

  5. I had the same situation. My WP site is hosted with JustHost and they were able to fix it. The reason: "Your ISP must have changed your IP address, and that IP address just so happened to have been blocked on our end."

As csonnek suggests, contact your BlueHost!
