How do i add a page thats not under a menu

  1. Hi all,

Im looking to add a Thankyou page after purchase but i dont want it linked under any menu's ... how do i do that with this theme?

    Thankyou in Advance :-)

    Aimee

The blog I need help with is ancestrypuzzlesuntangled.com.

  2. You could make a custom menu where that "thank you" page would not be in the navigation tabs.

I'm not exactly sure why you want such a "thank you" page because, my opinion here, but wouldn't you want to sent a client a more personal message than a link to a generic "thank you?"

If you can clarify with some more information about what you want to do, there may be other ways to accomplish your goal. But keep in mind, this answer is subject to my opinion.

  3. Oh, and there is another very useful article about making custom menus here:

Its required on PayPal terms of service... I use PayPal as an intermediary company to process transactions, and yes they get a more personal thank you, in an email. It's more of a yes we have received your money, you will receive an email shortly kind of thing so they don't think it didn't work and then try to process again, and end up doing it twice!

  5. Thank you for your input! :)

  6. It's required on PayPal terms of service...

That's odd. I've used PayPal for work blogs and don't recall such a stipulation. There was a confirmation for an order or donation from PayPal, but not a page link to a "thanks" page on the blog(s) themselves. The confirmations come from PayPal itself. And I get copies of the confirmations in my email. Then we send personal messages, both email and traditional mail.

  7. It's required if you use an Auto return feature to your website on Paypal itself, i don't pay for a business account through paypal yet so they have to leave my site to make a payment :-)

I first noticed it on this blog. :-)

  8. I may be wrong, but i would rather be safe than sorry!

  9. Does anyone else have any ideas, im still not seeing anything in custom menu's that i have read so far with any information on this.

There is also an old thread that on the same topic that appears to have gone unanswered! The unanswered old thread.

  10. I have a couple of other pages such as the privacy policy i would like to keep and have them as parent pages i guess you might call?

Eg it might be ancestrypuzzlesuntangled.com/privacypolicy kind of thing but no link in the menu at all.

But i don't want them under a menu or child page or sub-menu or any kind of menu link at all.

I'd like to create a link either in text widget on another section of the page to get to it.

How do i disconnect the link to the menu?

    Please help! :-)

  11. Tess has answered your question from the start: you need to create a custom menu and add only the items you want.
For details on custom menus see this post of mine (Tess already linked to it):

  12. Yeah that's just me not reading the link properly, missed a key part of it obviously! I just came back to mark resolved when i realized how silly i was to miss it lol

    Sorry!

    :-)

    Thanks Tess!
