How do I add Alexa verification to the home page html?

  1. I want to track the Alexa ratings for my blog, but to do so I have to add the Alexa verification ID to the html on the home page. I can't even see the home page let alone find the html to revise. Is this possible? Would it be possible if I upgraded? (I don't know php)

The blog I need help with is flubugbugle.wordpress.com.

  2. Sorry, you cannot. You can verify with Google, Bing and Yahoo only at this time.

  3. I should say this is not possible at wordpress.COM.

You can self-host an installation of the wordpress.ORG software at a third-party hosting service such as bluehost, dreamhost, etc., and then you would be able to verify with Alexa. Figure an average monthly cost, all things considered, of $10 to $25 depending on your requirements.

If you self-host, you have a lot more responsibilities. You are responsible for all installations, all upgrades, all backups and all troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, you have to figure it out and fix it.

  4. If you remain at WordPress.com although you cannot embed the Alexa code and the quantcast code is already embedded by Staff here, you can bookmark the Alexa link and the quantcast link and check the metrics for your blog from time to time:
