How do I change a wordpress.org blog domain on wordpress.com?

  1. I have a wordpress.org blog and I have changed the subdomain name that the blog was hosted on to personalpinions.paulsloan.info. I am trying to connect to twitter with the new blog domain, but wordpress.com points back to the old domain, blog.paulsloan.info.

The blog I need help with is blog.paulsloan.info.

  2. It appears that the blog you're requesting help for is not hosted here at WordPress.com. This forum is specifically for technical support requests for blogs hosted here. If you are referring to a WordPress site that is hosted here, please post the correct website address.

If you are requesting help for a site hosted elsewhere, please visit the WordPress.org support forums at http://wordpress.org/support/

For more information on the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, read the following support article:

  3. I am trying to change the blog URL under Manage My Blogs on http://wordpress.com/#!/my-blogs/

  4. Gotcha. You'll need to connect your site to WordPress.com by downloading and installing the Jetpack plugin (if you haven't already).

If you've already done that and are still having an issue, let me know, and I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance, as only they can look at your account to see what the issue is.

  5. Thank you for your help. I already had downloaded and installed the plugin and checked jetpack for help. I disabled and re-enabled the plugin. When I tried to connect to wordpress.com, I got the message:

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible

Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 0]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.me/support/

The XMLRPC check came back okay and the personalpinions.paulsloan.info site and admin load fine on my computer

  6. Have you tried doing as the error suggests, verifying with your web host that connections to WordPress.com are allowed, then contacting Jetpack support? The direct link to their support contact form is:

    http://jetpack.me/contact-support/

This is an issue we cannot help you with here, since it's an issue with the Jetpack plugin itself in combination with your web server.
