how do i change my domain to wordpress.org with Dreamhost?

  1. Hi,
I have joined Dreamhost to switch my http://www.phoenicispubling.com from WordPress.com to WordPress.org.
I've done the one click installation of WordPress.org through DreamHostand have received the email from DreamHost to say that installation was a success.
When I click on the link in the email to my http://www.phoenicispublishing.com it takes me to the WordPress.com version.
I thought that DreamHost one click installation of WordPress could handle the entire switch over - was I mistaken? If so, what steps do I need to take?

The blog I need help with is phoenicispublishing.com.

Hi there! It looks like your site is still pointing to WordPress.com's nameservers:

    Domain Name: PHOENICISPUBLISHING.COM
    Registrar URL: http://www.wildwestdomains.com
    Name Server: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    Name Server: NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

For your site to start using the wordpress.org version, you'll need to point your domain to our nameservers:

    ns1.dreamhost.com
    ns2.dreamhost.com
    ns3.dreamhost.com

Once DNS has propagated the new records, you'll see the .org version. :) You can follow your site's DNS propagation here: http://www.whatsmydns.net

Hope that helps! Feel free to submit a support ticket or hit us up on LiveChat for any other support help!

    Cheers!

  3. Thank you!
I switched over successfully just earlier - thanks to a level headed person calmly explaining in about two sentences what to do....much like you did just now : )
