jstronbergI have checked the 2 column box under customize but only a single column appears. I want to add a side bar for additional items, e.g. blog roll, recent posts, etc.

Twenty Eleven doesn't show sidebars on the single post pages or on static pages. That is how it is designed. That cannot be changed. You will have to select a different theme that shows a sidebar on static pages.

Thank you for your help. Do you have any suggestions for some themes I should be looking at or how to determine if sidebar will show up on static and separate pages?
