How do I change the font size for just part of my blog post?

  1. I feel like I am missing something. When I am typing in a post, I don't see any way of just highlighting a few words and changing the font size only for those few words. Out of desperation, I have been using the "headings 5" to make certain words smaller. I would like to find out the correct (and easiest) way to do this once and for all.

The blog I need help with is souvenirfinder.com.

Bad move! Search engine spiders read HTML and understand the relevance of heading tags, so when heading tags are used appropriately search engines give more weight to text that is inside a heading tag. When they are inappropriately used bad things happen. Read why here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/05/08/wordpress-com-heading-tags-from-h1-h6/

    See (1) below.

There is no free and easy way to change fonts in a free hosted WordPress.COM blog. These are 3 ways to change fonts on WordPress.com blogs.

    (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the Text HTML editor. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/

    (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

    (3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#custom-fonts

  4. That's what I was afraid of, at least I know now. Fortunately, I haven't launched any posts yet.
I need to change the headings then as the text I am making smaller are image attributions-- the least important text in my post.
I bookmarked the site you linked to in #1-- that is what I need. I think I am good now, thank you.

  5. You're welcome and best wishes.
