How do I change the label on my Home tab?

  • Custom menus don’t seem to be behaving like they’re supposed to…
    1. How do I change the menu label for my home page? The custom menu page has a box for changing the navigation label, but no matter what I type in there, my homepage still shows “Home” as the label on my navigation bar.
    2. When I was reading the explanations of how to change that label, I also ran into instructions on how to make a static parent tab. I followed those directions, and everything looked right on the custom menus page, but the page doesn’t show up on my homepage navigation bar or on my pages’ list of options as a parent page.
Both of these items are “custom” menu items. Is that some clue to the problem?
–Yes, I am remembering to save the menu before looking for changes on the homepage.
    3. Oh, also, dragged pages to be subpages on the custom menu page, they showed on the menu as “sub item” but were on the main navigation bar.

  • Heavens above, I figured it out. The “primary menu” box at the bottom had to be checked. The instructional video showed it as being checked by default, so they left it in the default position since there was no other option for that theme. Mine came unchecked as a default, and for some reason, I decided that must be okay (since there is no other option on my theme).
Now that I’ve checked the box, everything is as it should be.
    Sigh.
    Thanks.

  • Hi there,

I’m so glad you got that setting sorted out! Our team is looking into ways to make that process a bit clearer for the future. If there’s anything more I can do to help, please let me know. :)
