How Do I Edit A Blog Without Having to Refresh It?

  1. I've heard there is some wordpress plug-in or add-on that allows you to make edits to your blog without having to constantly refresh it for everyone to see. I would like to be able to make edits to a potential blog without having someone come across it while its in an incomplete state.

For the record, I am not hosting the blog myself, but on wordpress.com. I know I could avoid this problem by hosting on my own server, etc, but I am just too cheap. Does anyone know how I could solve this problem? Any answer would be very appreciated.

  2. You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you'll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don't understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

If you forgot to include a link to your blog, you can reply and include it below. It'll help people to answer your question.

  3. I have not made a blog yet. What I want to know is, if I do make a blog, what plug-in or add-on can I download that will allow me to make edits to its appearance, theme, set-up, etc., without my having to do multiple saves for me to see the results. I want to be able to see what a particular theme would look like on my page, but don't want people to see my 'tests' or 'experiments' with the page, only the finished product.

  4. You cannot use plugins on wordpress.com.
Please read what the friendly support bot linked to about the differences between wp.COM and wp.ORG.

If you want to experiment with your wp.COM blog but not have the public see those experiments, then just open another free wp.COM blog. Export the data from your public site, import it into your (private) test blog, and experiment to your heart's content.
