How do I fix the title to a blog post?

  1. Hi, I just published a new post. For some unknown reason, I can't seem to get the title of my blog to appear at the top of the page. I'd like the title to be 'A Little Fear and a Lot of Loathing in Bavet, Cambodia.' All is says is 'Aside, June 27.' I have blogged here for several years and have never had a problem with this. This is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. Please help me add the title onto my post. Here's the link to the post. Thank you. http://gregswords.wordpress.com/2013/06/27/a-little-fear-and-a-lot-of-loathing-in-bavet-cambodia/

The blog I need help with is gregswords.wordpress.com.

  2. That's an Aside, not a standard Post format. You need to edit it and, on the right-hand side under Attributes, pick Post, not Aside.

And do not EVER use the New Post button on the grey admin bar. Not only does it create Asides, but it doesn't use the autosave feature either.

  3. I am having the same problem at http://deanna-barnes.com/2013/06/27/influence/

I've deleted, edited, saved again -- still no title showing on my post.

    Thanks for any help.

  4. Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.

Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.

    See:edit post screen > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/#quick-edit
Edit the post and look in the far right hand column under the post attributes box for post formats. Choose "Standard" and add your categories and tags. Then click "Update".
Click and change "Aside" to "Standard"
Then click "update" in the publish module.

  5. Thank you. It worked.

  6. That's good news. Happy blogging!
