How do I free up a 'reserved' blog address that I think I reserved?

  1. Hello,

I've found discussion forums that address problems similar to mine, but with no final resolution... I remember typing in and saving (somewhere, and over a year or so ago) a URL to use as a new WordPress blog address, however I was not able to actually 'change (my) blog address' as I was trying to do at the time.

My current blog is malaysiabiodiversity.wordpress.com but I want to change the address to madeonearth.wordpress.com - when I go through the process this address comes up as 'reserved,' however, I think I am the one who reserved it (and I see others have thought similarly). Is there any way to find out if it is in fact mine, or if I can free up that address? Whatever I was messing around with was done a year ago, and I cannot remember how I did what I did.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is malaysiabiodiversity.wordpress.com.

  2. There is already an account under the name: "madeonearth". Which means that this account has the privilege to create a blog with that name and that's why it's reserved. Feel free to choose another name for your blog.

Keep in mind we also offer an upgrade for custom domain names and you can use any WordPress.com blog URL underneath a custom domain. For more details about how domain mapping works: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
