   I just started blogging and noticed that everyday more and more people "Like" my posting. I am getting these notifications by email, but don't see their avatar's showing up on the post that they liked.

   Is there something I need to change in settings?

   Click the title of the blog posts or the "leave a reply" link to view the gravatars of those who clicked the "like" button. http://laurasfreshplate.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/river-poem/

   Unless you use P2, a twitter-like theme comments are collapsed on the front page of your blog. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.

   In a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.

   Note that your followers can "like" your posts in several locations without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat. Those who have username accounts only but no blog can become followers and click the "like" button.

   I compel my follwers to click in and read the whole post on my blog byt setting my RSS Feed to "summary" rather than "full text" on this page > Settings > Reading
   For each article in a feed, show
   _ Full text
   _Summary
