How do I get my wordpress on websearchers like google or yahoo?
If you want to be sure you’ve covered the bases when it comes to blog promotion then this is a helpful link.
I think this Beginner's Guide will be helpful if you are looking for basic how to's. There's a Critique My Blog thread in the off-topic forum. And there is also a thread you can plug your blog in in the off-topic forum.
Here are some ways to promote your blog and increase your readership.
A. Find Technorati on the web. Register and create an account, claim your blog(s), tag them, create a watchlist and register your favorite blogs. You will find that the site has excellent instructions to help you work through all the steps.
B. Also be sure to register your blog so you get the attention of search engines. It is said that Google's directory comes straight from the DMOZ Directory so look into getting your blog site listed in it. The DMOZ is commonly known as the Open Directory Project and it has strict guidelines as to who is listed. Submission info can be found here.
"If your site has been accepted into the Open Directory, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for your site to be listed on partner sites which use the Open Directory data, such as AOL Search, Google, Netscape Search, Yahoo Search, and hundreds of other sites. We make updates of the data available weekly, but each partner has their own update schedule."
You should *not* submit your site to Google, Yahoo, and MSN more than once every 30 days.
Although Google says that manually submitting your pages to their index is unnecessary, they have an interface for you to do so. But don't be surprised if it takes months for Google to acknowledge your site's existence.MSN will seldom visit a website unless invited by submission. Yahoo frequents sites more than MSN but less than Google but will dramatically increase visits after submission.
Submit your site to only the top 40 search engines. Paste their code on your site and you will then receive emails asking to confirm your submissions.
C. We also have many threads in the forum search box on increasing traffic to your blog. From time to time we start another one reiterate everything that’s been said before and occasionally we add new ideas.
In a nutshell:
(1) Promoting your wordpress.com blog will be more effective if you edit your profile and link your wordpress.com username to your wordpress.com blog.
(2) Promoting your wordpress.com blog will be more effective if you regularly post high quality, original content posts to your blog and build a faithful readership.
(4) Promoting your wordpress.com blog will be more effective if you invest time and energy into leaving meaningful comments on other blogs, in forums and on websites related to your blogging topics.

BTW the url for your blog is http://electro9000sclubpenguinstuff.wordpress.com/ and you need to correct it. Go to -> Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile and find "website". Add another "f" into the url you previously typed there. It should be "stuff" and not "stuff". After you correct it then click "Update Profile" to save the change.
Please ignore the typo above. You did not spell "stuff" correctly in your url. You spelled it with only one "f" and it needs two in order to direct properly to your blog.
