I have just started my blog. When someone opens a post, they get a Google Ad - the one yesterday was advertising for singles who want to hike. I really don\'t want this to come up on my site. Is it because this is a free service and the ads pay for that? if so what do i do to get rid of the ads.

You can purchase the No-Ads upgrade from the Upgrades section of your dashboard.
Once this option is added to your blog, no ads will ever be inserted in your pages anymore.
