How do I get something I typed for the about tab to show up in the right place?

  • I was prompted to type something about myself for the “about” tab on my very new blog, I admit I don’t know what I am doing, but I wont show up. When I am looking at my blog the only way i can find it is to do a search and type the word “about” and it shows up. If I just click on the about tab it shows the same thing that my main page shows. Help!

  • Howdy!

You’ve changed your blog’s home page to a static front page, which is preventing your content from appearing properly.

To fix things up, you’ll want to change your blog’s front page (via Settings -> Reading) to the appropriate value, depending on your preference. If you’d like a list of posts to display when a user goes to your blog, you want to select Your latest posts. If you’d like to show a particular (static) page when users visit your site, change Front Page: to the value of your choice and Posts page: to “-Select-“.

You can create a new custom page via the “Pages” tab in your blog’s dashboard. You can also edit the content of your About page there.

If you want to learn more about the various content types, and how posts and pages work, I highly recommend this guide.

Please let me know if I can be of any further help.

    Best,
    P.

  • Thank you so much. Your advice worked like a charm.
I still don’t have a clue what I’m doing, but I am having fun learning.
    Thanks again,
