How do I get widgets from the wp blog site into my new wp website with blog?

  1. I am now using a wordpress web site (www.parisecoaching.com) with my blog imbedded. On my wordpress blog (www.heartcentercoaching.wordpress.com) I have 2 widgets which I cannot find on the new site:
    Follow Blog via Email
    Facebook like Box

I want these widgets on my new site so I can eliminate the old blog site. How can I get them?

    Thank you,
    Michael Parise

  2. There are several widgets that are only vailable to WordPress.com free hosted bloggers. There are also features that are only available to free hosted wordpress.com bloggers. You can't get these widgets from WordPress.com for your WordPress.org install. You have to look for plugins that do the same thing.

  3. Thank you timethief. I wonder why wp makes this so difficult? I have people who get my postings to their email daily and now they won't be able to without extra gyrations.....oh well. Thank you again.

  4. I have people who get my postings to their email daily and now they won't be able to without extra gyrations.....oh well.

If you install the JetPack plugin and activate it on your new WordPress.org install then you can return to this thread and provide Staff with both URLs. They will be able to tranfer only your email subscribers to your WordPress.org install for you.

  5. Thank you again. I'll ask the person designing my site. Wish my brain were as nimble as yours in conceptualizing these abstractions....in my next life maybe!

  6. I have installed JetPack to my custom wordpress install and would like to request that you transfer the email subscribers from my wordpress.com account. Here are the two urls:

    WordPress.com URL: http://heartcentercoaching.wordpress.com/

    Custom WordPress URL: http://www.parisecoaching.com

    Thank you!
