How do I know what in my upload failed, for my profile?

  1. "Profile update failed. Please upload and try again."
I've tried changing things over and over again, to no avail.
Specifics should be given them. Why is it failing?

The blog I need help with is ilese.wordpress.com.

  2. What are you trying to change?

  3. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If you are not successful let us know which browser (and version of it) you’re using and post any error reports you get.

These are the accepted file types:
    .jpg/.jpeg
    .gif
    .png

  5. I'm trying to upload on my profile. In about 12 different fields. I click save, and you tell me. It failed. But there's no red highlighting, no indication of what failed. >:-(

  6. ("answer" just before this wasn't in response to yours, in case you wondered.) I was trying to add a photo, change my public username, add three videos… Thanks for all the suggestions, by the way.
I think somewhere along the line, it did say I had to enable cookies – is that a bad thing? They're always telling us to get rid of them, to clean out our computer!
All these instructions, and I thought it would be easy <whew>.
So I have to go to that browse happy website first…
Is there another place where it really is "easy"? This is what I want: my name, maybe my image, and three videos – either themselves, or links – posted. Not big videos. I'm talking 1 min. max length on each.
    Mozilla Firefox.
I try to upload the small videos – they say maximum 3 gigs, and my videos are… Something in megabytes, not big, and that fails – with no error message. And of course they keep telling me to go to video WordPress to upgrade.

  7. (I did manage to add the Gravatar … avatar, obviously, as my picture is now showing. Which is kind of weird because evidently some of the changes I made "took", but others didn't.)
trying a new angle: when I go to my WordPress site, there's that big picture. If I could just change that big picture – ideally to a video, but I don't think that's possible – to my image, I'd be fine, well, partly fine. That image has nothing to do with me.)

  8. trying to add a photo, change my public username, add three videos… Thanks for all the suggestions, by the way.

    trying to add a photo
    Where exactly do you mean?
On a post or on a page or in a sidebar widget?
