How do I make my blog look like this?

  1. I am currently using this theme http://mystiquedemo.wordpress.com/ for wordpress.com

I'm not on .org, and aren't using anything fancy.

I want to know how I can get the widgets* (the Facebook, twitter etc icons) above the menu bar to work. Or is this something only accessible via wordpress.org?

I already have widgets along the side (my current Twitter feed, and Goodreads), but I was really hoping to have the icons above the main bar. If these are the limits to what I can do with a simple .com blog, then I'm okay with that. But I would still like to utilize as many features as I can.

The blog I need help with is amyrae2609.wordpress.com.

  2. Those are not widgets. Those are in your Theme Options.

Go to the themes forum and look at the threads tagged with the name of your theme. That will help you get a better understanding of what is possible and what is not.

  3. Thank you so much :)

I only joined wordpress last night, and I am still figuring things out. I feel like such a noob here, even though I am somewhat competent with this sort of thing.

This is just a world, entirely out of my league XD

On another topic - do you know if I am able to include Pinterst with this, or is this impossible due to javascript?

  4. Depends what you mean by "include." Do a search of the Support documents for "Pinterest" and you'll find all the options.

Let me just say: the #1 mistake I see newbies make is farting around with the design and customization features and paid upgrades (before they even know how the software really works) rather than just getting blogging. If you just get blogging you'll be miles ahead when you want to customize your site, because you'll know how it works and what you want and what you have to do to get it.
