How do I not display a post without deleting it?

I need to keep several posts from displaying on my site, but I do not want to delete them as they may need to come back (we host info about businesses that belong to our association and some of these that have become inactive may decide to rejoin us). I don't want to have to reimport all the info and pics if at all possible. I just need to keep their posts from displaying on our pages. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is shophillsboroughnc.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi. In order to assist you, we need the URL of your blog, starting with http:// please. Thanks.

  3. All assuming you're blogging on wordpress.com, you can change them to draft or to private.

  4. @absurdoldbird - the reason we ask for the URL is that some days 30%++ people posting here are not hosted on WordPress.COM, Cuts down on the traffic and in many cases we need to look at the site - helps avoid confusion.

Thanks for posting the URL That is a free hosted WordPress.com blog and the answers are as absurdoldbird said plus on other :
    change the post to draft
change the post visibility to private
    password protect the post.

  7. Go to the Edit the Post or Page screen for the Post or Page you want to not display - Upper right corner of the screen where the "Publish" button is you should find a

    Status: Published
Click on "Edit" and select "Draft" from the drop down and save changes - that will set the Post or Page to "Draft" and it will be saved on your site but not visible to the public

I always do a "Save"before leaving the edit page -

  8. ~~TT - bit of an echo today -

    have a nice afternoon
