how do I quickly post someone elses blog

  1. I am looking at WordPress after using Del.icio.us and Bloglines. These two web services have effective posting widgets that attach to the browser. The widgets/buttons quickly paste selected wording on the webpage/blog/news of interest into a new linked Post. I am unable to locate any similar tools on the WordPress.com web service. Can anyone please point me in the right direction.

    thanks
    Tomt

  2. If you look in your backend >>dashboard>>sidebar widgets you will find a del.icio.us widget - drag and drop it into your sidebar configure it and you're on the road. Get a bloglines account and put your bloglines button in a text widget as I have done - you're on the road.

  3. Actually I think Tom is asking about the PressIt bookmarklet thing. You're find a link at the bottom of your Dashboard -> Write -> Write Post page. Save it as a Browser favorite and use that when you want to make a Post to your blog. When you find a page you want to post about, highlight the text you want to use and then use the favorate. The URL of the page in question as well as the title will go over to your Post as well.

I will suggest that you remain logged into your blog though. There was a bug where the text didn't come over correctly if you didn't. I don't know if this has been solved or not though. Trying it a couple of times as well will help you get used to it.

    Hope this helps,
    -drmike
