How do I redirect my blog here if I would get a hosted WordPress?

  1. Hi guys, I would just want to ask a question if I will be able to retain my visitors once I moved in to wordpress.org? Is it possible to redirect my old xxxxxxx.wordpress.com domain to my new address if I will be self-hosted? I need an answer quickly because I will be transferring. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is noypigeeks.wordpress.com.

  2. Thanks! It's a very costly though

  3. $1 per month? You only need it for a year. By that time, all your old links will have dropped off the search engines and you won't need it anymore.

  4. Here there.

I want to try this site redirect tool, but it says to purchase it from the Store page in your dashboard. I don't see the Store Page in my (hosted site) WordPress dashboard. Am I missing something?

    Thank you,
    Mark

  5. Store is at the top of the dashboard navigation on the left right under "dashboard".

  6. I should add that it is in the wordpress.COM dashboard.

  7. Thank you for the quick reply! But, I have a self-hosted blog site. Can I still use the tool? And, can I get access to it?

  8. Did you just move to a self-hosted site from a wordpress.COM site?

  9. Nope! I started with a hosted site from day one. Is this tool only for WordPress.COM sites?

  10. Let me explain what I am hoping to do, and may be you can make a suggestion?

My domain use to be hyperblogcafe.com, but now it is original-republican.com.

Let's say you clicked on an old link that I posted while the domain was hyperblogcafe.com, but I want you to be redirected to original-republican.com. The permalinks are exactly the same. The only thing that changed is the domain.

So, if you click on hyperblogcafe.com/my-post, I want it to change to original-republican.com/my-post

Is this possible? And, do I need that utility?

    Thank you.

  11. You are in the wrong forums then and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ . That is where self-hosted sites are supported. We can't help you with self-hosted sites since we have no experience with them.

  12. Oh I see. Well, thank you anyhow. :) I appreciate it.

  13. You are welcome and good luck.
