How do I remove comments box from Home page?

  1. Hello Happiness Engineer :)

I recently bought a domain with WordPress so that I can start my own freelance website - yay! It's lastedits.com.

I've been trawling through the guides, and so far so good. However, I'd really like for my website to be clean and simple, and not have it look like a blog. My Home page still has the comments box, and I've tried to disable all the options. How come it looks different from my 'Services' and 'Contacts' pages? Is there any way I can make it look more like that latter two pages?

Happy new year and sorry to trouble you. Any other advice on website set up would be greatly appreciated.

    Happy 2013! :)

Look forward to hearing from you.

    All best,
    Renee

The blog I need help with is lastedits.com.

  2. Hi Renee, thank you for the warm wishes, Happy New Year to you too!

It looks like you've created two About pages (about and about-2) and you the page that you set as the static page for home has the comments still enabled. You can edit your pages (and remove the one you don't need) under Pages and you can update the static front page under Settings > Reading.

You may also consider using a form for your contact page, as described in this support article.
