I noticed an "Edit" link on the public view of the "About Me" page on my blog, but I'd rather that the general public not be allowed to edit what I've written. (It's a static page, of sorts, with all comments disabled.) How do I remove this from the public view of the page?

No one can see it except you when you are logged into WordPress.com. It's an Admin [edit] link for your convenience. To prove that to yourself log out clear your browser cache and cookies and without logging into WordPress.com - view your blog.
