According to a "whois" look up that domain name is not registered through wordpress, but through Network Solutions and is good through 24-May-2013.
Take a look at this information and see if it is correct (I didn't include the http://www. as it might have gotten me tossed in the spam dungeon):
networksolutions.com/whois-search/tucsonrpc.com
Could it be that what expired was the domain mapping instead? If so, you can just go back through the domain mapping and purchase it again, but first you will have to change the nameservers for the domain to point it back at wordpress.com, and you will likely have to wait for 12-24 hours before you can map it.
